We woke up around 8, and immedietly I got to finishing the costume. You see, I couldn't hem the bottom last night because by the time I got to that part she had been asleep for hours. So I go to hem, and its a good 6-8 inches too long. I thought that was great because the whole thing is a bit big because stupid Butterick doesn't make a size 6 pattern. They make a 4/5 which would be way too small or a 7 which is too big. I thought that I woudl leave the extra fabric and do a big hem so she can wear it again in a year or two. Well after about an hour of messing with it and not getting it to work, I got frusterated and cut it off. Bad choice. I was tired, frustrated, and in a hurry, and I did a horrible job! Like I'm talking some parts are a good 4-5 inches shorter than other parts! Oh well, I finally finished the stupid costume at 10:15, and it was too late to go to my 10 am pilates class. I hurried and got the kids ready and headed to the gym to work out on my own. It was the gym nursery's Halloween party today, so the kids were supposed to wear their costumes, but Lincoln refused to put his on. SO we went there, and the kids had a great time. Upon leaving I realized that I was not thinking about lunch when I went to the gym so late, and it was time to take Savannah to school, so we went through the drive through at Wendy's. Now most days I drop Savannah off at my mom's house and my sister takes her to school since she works there, but the trip to Wendy's made us too late for that, so I had to take her myself. Oh, it was Savannah's Halloween party at school today too, because for some reason our school district doesn't have school on Friday.
So I drove the 25 minutes to Savannah's school, dropped her off, and rushed home, arriving 10 minutes before Lincoln's speech therapist. That went great! I really need to do a post about that, maybe tomorrow. So after his speech I decided that since I had two hours before I needed to pick Savannah up, and Lincoln wanted to be outside we would go for a walk/hike. There is a beautiful trail just three blocks from my house, and I've never taken him up there. So we got Starsky and walked up to it. Lincoln was having a ball! He ran around, climbed rocks, jumped off things. It was little boy heaven, until he fell in a cactus. Not like a regular cactus either, it was the kind where the pokers look like little hairs but sting really bad! So I carried him home screaming and put him in the bath. After his bath we spent about an hour picking the pokers out with tweezers and finished just in time to go get Savannah from my mom's.
We got there, and let me say; I love my mom, and I love going to her house, but its the black hole! Its impossible to go there without spending a few hours. I managed to get in and out in about an hour and a half today, only because I had to get home to go to my ward's super Saturday. Now, I know what you are thinking... It isn't Saturday, its Wednesday. Yes, you are correct. The Super Saturday was scheduled for two weekends ago, but there was a funeral at the church that day, so they moved it to today. I had signed up for two crafts, and they were having a dinner, and quilting. I would have stayed much longer, but we could only be there an hour. I managed to get both my crafts done, but I didn't eat. I did however, forget to tell the nursery people about Lincoln's diet, so he had all sorts of stuff he wasn't supposed to have. Oop!
So we left there just in time to be twenty minutes late to Savannah's dance and music companies Halloween party at the skating rink. It was so much fun! My sister and two of my nieces dance there as well, and it was for families, so almost my whole family was there. The kids skated their little hearts out for two hours, and when Lincoln layed down on the skating rink and acted like he was going to bed I finally decided it was time that we HAD to go. I had to drop off my nephew in Riverdale and my niece in Ogden, and we finally made it home around 10 PM, at which time I started my homework. I had two quizes tonight that I hadn't even done the reading for!
So ya, great day, but a bit too much. Tomorrow should be only slightly calmer. But, the good news is that I FINALLY got a new camera, so I have a few pictures!!! I know you are almost as excited as I am, I'm sure. Here are a few, but there are many more on dropshots, link in my favorite sites section.
