Valentine's Day

OK, so I don't want to be a whiner, but I'm going to whine for a second here. Valentine's Day came and went. Yet another Valentine's Day spent without Jesse. Honestly, I'm not really sure if we've ever spent V day together. If we have, I don't remember it. Our first he was in boot camp. The next year is a blur. The 3rd and 4th he had duty (which I distinctly remember because in 2006 we went out 2 days early to celebrate because of the duty and I complained that it was the second year in a row that he had duty on V day.) Last year he was in AZ or somewhere on a work trip, and this year he was in San Diego and I'm in Utah. Oh, and we still have no clue when we are moving because we still can't decide if we are going to buy (in which case it will probably be a few more months), rent (my last choice), or move on base (if we wait for our first choice housing it will only be 3-4 more months!). Ya, not looking great on that front.

Valentine's Day was a joy though. NOT! Savannah was running a fever on Friday. I woke up Saturday to her puking on my bed, followed by puke on the bathroom floor. The day got even better when after the sixth pair of soiled panties I convinced her to just wear a pull up the rest of the day. Seriously, our holidays are cursed! Christmas we had the sinus infection/ear infection thing, New Years was full of puke, Civil Rights Day was fevers, and now this. I hear by ban all further holidays!

We did have a great time celebrating V day today though. It was our bi-monthly family dinner at my mom's today, and we called it a Valentine's party. The food was great, and I was in charge of desert and made Pioneer Woman's chocolate sheet cake. Then my mom brought out presents. She gave the kids chocolates and these cool animal balloon/ball things, and I got the mother load... a gorgeous purse that I've been eyeing for months! Its zebra print with hot pink trim. I really needed a purse too, since my current one has a whole in it. I'll have to take a picture of it sometime. Oh, and Jesse got me a great present too, but I can't use it until I get to CA. He got me a gift certificate for a massage, facial, and haircut. He's notorious for not-so-great gifts, so I was pleasantly surprised!

I did manage to get a few crappy pictures of the kids yesterday. I made them get dressed at 5 PM just so I could take a picture of them in their Valentine outfits, so even though the pictures aren't great, I'm posting them anyway because they took a lot of effort!
