Haircuts

This is one picture that just could not be sufficiently told without pictures, so thank you to my friend, Addie, for letting me borrow her camera.

Last week Jesse decided to trim Lincoln's mullet a bit. He didn't want to, but my not so subtle hints that I wanted to get his hair cut short again motivated him to at least trim it. I think it looks like a girl cut, especially in the back. He may be getting it cut anyway.

Savannah has been asking ever since to let me cut her hair. Now, for those who weren't around or don't remember, Savannah was bald until she was about three. Her hair was finally getting to be really long and beautiful. It was just about to her waist, curly, and just beautiful. Savannah was very proud of her hair and loved to tell everyone that she had long, long hair like a princess. Well, once Savannah saw Daddy cutting Lincoln's hair she started asking for a haircut. I thought we had convinced her that her long beautiful hair is best. Then I came home yesterday and found this in my bathroom.

After closer inspection, there is no doubt who this hair belongs to...

I cried... more than once.

She was sleeping when I found it, so I still wasn't exactly sure how bad the damage was. But, when she woke up this morning this is what I found.

I tried to fix it as well as i could. She managed somehow to chop all the front really short, leave the top long, and cut the bottom all about shoulder length. The left side is definately the worst part, that whole side is cut about ear length. I would have gone for a bob except that her hair is curly. So I moved her part to the opposite side to try to hide the now nearly bald half of her head and cut all over her beautiful curly locks shoulder length.

She will have to wear the front back in a clip until it evens about a bit, and our days of fancy hairdos are done for the time being. There isn't much to do when almost all the hair in front is gone. Lets just hope that it grows fast, she starts Kindergarten in a month!

WOW what a change in hair. I have to totally agree with you about Lincolns hair.

Every mom had a hair cut story, but I have to say that is the worst! Usually I only had a locket or two missing. Or one really short piece on top or in the front. I would have cried with you! Thank goodness she is such a beautiful little girl, you did a nice job working with what she left you....

OH I'm sorry, but like Keli said every mom has a hair cut story. Taylor was mine, she cute a couple of times on the crown of her head, in the back, she barely missed her pony tail on top of her head. They grow. Thankfully, and it might come in thicker now that it's been cut. Oh by the way savannah gets baptized this saturday.
