So we came to Utah on March 20 for Jesse's sister's wedding. The plan was to stay until the 26th. Well the day after Easter we got a call that a family that both Jesse and I are both close with's son had passed away during the night. We had been at their home that evening, and the boy was playing with our kids. He was 12 and passed away just hours later. So we decided to stay for the funeral, which was Sat the 29, and we would go back to San Diego that evening. Well, as I got thinking about it I decided that the kids and I should stay. My sister, Camille, who lives in Ohio is coming April 11-14 to bless her new baby, and I was planning on coming back for that since I am close with her and really want to see Cosette, my new niece. So, long story short, what was supposed to be a 5 day trip has turned into almost a month. We will be flying home on April 14.
We are having a great time though, other than getting sick. We had to go to the urgent care 3 times in 4 days. Friday Lincoln spiked a high fever out of nowhere. My nephew, Bridger, had been hospitalized the night before with a high fever and was dehydrated, so I felt that I needed to bring Linc in as soon as the fever started. The doctor said that it looked like strep throat, and since Bridger had a confirmed infection via blood test, Lincoln was put on an antibiotic without a culture. Sunday morning, Lincoln's fever was 104.5, and even with alternating Motrin and Tylenol wouldn't go below 101. So I decided to bring him back in. The dr. said that both his ears were infected, his throat was red, he had a lot of sinus drainage, and his chest was wheezy. So he was diagnosed with an antibiotic-resistant infection and put on a different antibiotic. He is allergic to penicillin drugs, so its always tricky to decide what to put him on. Monday morning Savannah woke up with a high fever (104.7) so we went back to the urgent care, again! She was diagnosed with pretty much the same thing, minus the wheezing. Today they are finally both fever free, just really grumpy and tired, and I think I am coming down with it... great!
We really are having fun though. The kids have gotten to spend a lot of time with their cousins, including my brother's son, Parker, who lives in Arizona and we haven't gotten to see in a really long time. We've seen all the grandparents including Jesse's grandfather that neither of my kids has ever met before, been to a wedding, a funeral, and a bridal shower. Had 2 Easter egg hunts. We've been to the children's museum. And we still have 2 weeks to fun left!
I forgot my camera cord, so I don't have any pictures from this trip, but I just developed a disposable camera from earlier this month. If you want to see some pictures I have a ton on our picture site, www.dropshots.com/carleyc the password is savannah
