30 hair-dos in 30 days- Day 1 "Sunshine"

I've seen this done on a few other blogs and decided that I'd give it a shot. As I was trying to decide what to do for the big first day I noticed that she was wearing a shirt with a sun on it. I decided to go with that and try to figure out how to do a sun. I don't love it. I might attempt a different kind of sun another day, but I'm posting it anyway. It also took longer than I expected (about 25 minutes) so we were late for school. If I ever attempt this one again it will be on a non-school day.

This hairdo looks a lot better in real life than it does in pictures. I didn't take any pictures during the process because I was in a rush, so I'll try to explain without. I started by doing 7 small (like 2 inches) french braids around her head for the rays. Then I did a circle braid connecting each of those. I started with one in the back, braided it until it reached the next one, added the hair, braided until it reached the next, etc. When i got back to where I started I tucked the hair under the first braid and brought it to the center. Then I had a circle with a bunch of loose hair in the middle. I pulled that hair into a pony tail, braided it and did kind of a swirl/bun to fill in the circle.

This is the end result from the back.

Lucy is going to be sooooo excited. I've braided her hair three times now and she couldn't be happier.

Excited to see more. Might need something a little easier :)
