Our Fabulous Weekend

My sister, Camille came to visit this weekend with her husband, Erik and their adorable baby (eek, toddler!), Cosette. We had a great time!

On Saturday after they arrived we headed up to Tamarak Beach in Carlsbad. It somehow got cold between the time we left our house and when we arrived at the beach. We had fun anyway though. I somehow forgot my camera, but Camille took a bunch of pictures and will send them to me when she can. The kids loved playing in the sand and swimming in the freezing ocean. I didn't think we'd ever get Savannah out of the water. Eventually we made it home and got cleanup up and headed to Old Town for some fantastic Mexican food.

Sunday was Sea World day, but Savannah had already committed to giving a talk in Primary, so Camille and Erik headed to Sea World, and we me them there after church. Savannah did a great job with her talk and the kids LOVED Sea World. Savannah said her favorite part was the kid rides (Specifically Abby's Sea Stars) and Lincoln's favorite part was the Sesame Street 4-D movie. When we saw the Sesame Street character's walking around Savannah said, "Hey look mom, its people dressed up like Sesame Street!" I thought they were much older when they stopped believing in that stuff. It made me pretty sad. I did take a bunch of pictures that day, but apparently none of Camille.

Monday we went to hang out with them at their hotel in La Jolla. We swam at the pool, which had an ocean view and ordered room service to the pool. Again, Savannah was a little fish and wouldn't get out of the pool even to eat. They swam for hours! Then we walked around La Jolla Cove and saw the seals and played in the park. Then Erik watched all the kids while Camille and I got pedicures! Finally we were going to pick up Jesse and head downtown for some dinner when we ran into a problem. I went to get my car out of the public parking lot where I had left it at 6:15 only to discover that the public parking lot closed at 6. Not only could I not get my car out, I couldn't even get in to my car! So we got to drive 15 minutes on the freeway with Lincoln sitting on my sister's lap and neither of my kids in carseats. Luckily, we have an extra seat for Lincoln so we all loaded into Jesse's car and headed to dinner anyway.
This morning Camille picked us up and drove us to our car, then we had to say goodbye. Both of my kids cried. We had way too much fun and didn't want to see them go.
