Robin Priess Glasser

Robin Preiss Glasser is the illustrator of the Fancy Nancy books, which Savannah LOVES. I read online that she was going to be at the San Diego Children's Book festival this weekend, so we went! Jesse actually volunteered to keep Lincoln, so I jumped at that and just Savannah and I went. As soon as we got there I wished we would have brought him. It was so much fun! They had hundreds of booths with tons of fun activities. We waited forever for Ms. Glasser presentation because we got there early, and they were running about half an hour behind. By the time she started, Savannah was grumpy and wouldn't go to the front with the rest of the kids, but she still enjoyed it. She dressed like the Queen, and read her newest book, "Tea for Ruby," which was written by Sarah Duchess of York and is all about manners. It was super cute! When she was finished she passed out cookies and taught the kids how to eat them with good manners. Then we got in the long line to get a book signed. We had brought 2 of our Fancy Nancy books, but Savannah really wanted "Tea for Ruby," so I let her get it. I made her choose 1 Fancy Nancy to get signed because I thought that with how long the line was we really shouldn't hold it up by asking her to sign tons (although the lady behind us had 5 books and no kids with her and was just getting them signed with the name, no dedication. $10 says she was selling them no ebay) Anyhow, she was very nice, and when it was Savannah's turn she said, "I saw you sitting way in the back with your cute bows!" Savannah wouldn't stand by her to get a picture because she was tired of standing in line, and was being shy, but we had fun anyway!

After we went to the Rad Hatter tent where Savannah decorated a hat. She said that was her favorite part of the day. Such a kid response!
